Are you ready to explore?

The Philipsburg area is an outdoor adventurer's paradise.  There are over 75 named lakes and reservoirs in the area.  As well as over half a dozen Ghost Towns and abandoned mines.  Most can be accessed by ATV, Side by Side or Dual Sport Motorcycle.

Create lasting memories while exploring the trails, backroads, scenic Highway 1 and the rich history that Philipsburg and Granite County has to offer.

These are a few of our favorite sites in the area.

Granite Ghost Town

Granite Ghost Town State Park showcases remnants of this once thriving 1890s silver boomtown that bears stark witness to Montana's boom-and-bust mining history.

Give yourself 4 hours to explore Granite Ghost Town including drive time.

The road from Philipsburg to Granite gains 1,280 feet in elevation. The road is narrow, steep and winding. Be prepared to pull over for oncoming traffic and enjoy the vistas.

Kirkville

Kirkville is a lower portion of Granite Ghost Town.  This is an easy drive from through town and is a great attraction if you are short on time.

Give yourself one hour to explore Kirkville including drive time.

Skalkaho Pass Scenic Highway

The ride through the Sapphire Mountains takes you on one of Montana's least traveled mountain roads. Built in 1924 this is a narrow winding ride that offers some excellent views and takes you past Skalkaho Falls. Continue all the way, and you will wind up in Darby, Montana in the Bitterroot Valley. Skalkaho Pass sits at 7,260 feet above sea level.

This is an incredible dual sport ride.  Plan on spending all day to explore this beautiful mountain road.
